The way it installs it has a nice factory style look to it, and at the top here we have these rubber strips, and that coupled with the aerodynamic shape of the bars is going to cut down on wind noise and drag while you're driving. Our end caps here have this plastic piece that can be knocked out and replaced with a Thule lock core system, so once you have this installed it can actually be secured to your roof. Also, if we take off the end cap by peeling this out here you can see it has a T-track, so this roof rack is capable to use T-track accessories. Also this uses fixed points to install onto your vehicle. more

Thule Traverse Roof Rack Installation - 2014 Kia Soul

Today on our 2014 Kia Soul we will be test fitting the Thule Traverse roof rack system using part #THLB50, #TH480, #THKIT1524. We will begin our test fit by opening up the front driver and passenger side doors. We will go ahead and place the front load bar onto the front of our roof. We will then need to measure from the leading edge of the windshield to the first part of our foot pack. We will measure 10 and a half inches on both the passenger and driver side of the vehicle, which will ensure the front load bar is perpendicular to the roof as well as the pads on the underside of the feet contour to the roof line correctly. Once we have the front bar in position we can use the included tensioning tool to tighten down the silver bolts to bring the clips up tightly against the roof line. Now we will alternate sides when tightening them down, so the bar doesn't favor one side of the vehicle. Once everything is all tightened down and secured, we can go ahead and place our rear load bar onto the rear of our roof and measure the load bar spread. The load bar spread is the measurement from the center of the front load bar to the center of the rear load bar and is also important when choosing roof rack accessories. We will measures 30 inches on both the passenger and driver side of the vehicle to ensure that both load bars are parallel to each other and perpendicular to the roof of our Kia. more
